Top Finds of the Week - November 6th

diffusionme.substack.com

Hi Bestie,

Welcome to our weekly newsletter. The purpose of these is to use all the content we save collectively as a team and help all of you find the highest quality content. Every week we will change the niches & topics we curate content for 😉 it’s more fun when you’re discovering the new 💅 amirite?   You’ll find a diffusion board with five pieces of content and why we wanted to focus on this topic this week.

This week was NFT NYC - one of the most significant crypto events of the year. So naturally, we were crypto-obsessed. We dove into NFT’s and DAO’s, so we want to share what was helpful for us to understand these abstract and exciting concepts.

We hope you find this helpful, and If you have any content you’d like to add, please reply but anyway, let’s dive right into it!

btw just click on the buttons to go find the diffusion boards

1️⃣  Getting Started on DAO’s

DAO Diffusion Board

So what’s a DAO? Think of a company but run by the people, initiatives are voted on by the people, there’s a shared vision, and on the blockchain. So, I guess, not like a company. The reason I think DAO’s are so excellent is because of my vision of the future. I see a rise in community-first platforms like Discord, Soul, or Lu.ma; why?

There’s a giant perceived polarization in society, so people are looking for communities with people they can relate to, understand, and have a similar vision in mind. Technology has made this happen. From social networks to the metaverse, there have been many different ways to make this possible. DAO’s will do this hand-in-hand with other technologies like VR. What do you think?

2️⃣  What the heck is an NFT?

NFT Diffusion Board

“They’re a scam.

Ok, but I can right-click save.

This is a laundering scheme for the rich.”

Do you ever hear this or even think that they’re true? It’s totally fine if you do because that’s exactly what I thought when Meebits launched. I saw it on OpenSea and said all three of these in my head. Can I get a big 🌬️ oof?

If you’re somebody who believes that expression is an essential piece to somebody’s identity or you were into trading cards like pokemon or Yugi-oh - I think you’ll be interested in NFT’s. I own 5; none are crazy valuable. They make me happy.  These are the pieces of content that people recommended to me, and that got me into NFTs.

3️⃣ This Week’s Top Finds

Podcast Must Listen

So for this last one - I don’t want to be too nerdy. I want to find a couple of pieces of content that you might enjoy this weekend. Oddly enough, I listened to many podcasts while working this week; this board will be dedicated to the Tim Ferriss Show. I was so anti-Tim Ferriss, mostly because he’s praised by all the tech bros, so today, I decided to give him a shot. He has perfect guests and asks interesting questions. I’ve used podcast notes to make it easier for you to digest what the hell is going on since podcasts can be so goddamn long-winded.

That’s it for this week’s Diffusion Newsletter. If you’d like to unsubscribe, just let us know.
